Plumber defiles girlfriend’s niece

A 38-year-old plumber who allegedly defiled a class three pupil, has appeared before a Magis-trate’s Court at Ashiaman.

Alhassan Yakubu, the accused, is said to be lover of the girl’s aunt.

The Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Theresa Adjei, told the court that, on September 25,at about 2:00pm, the complainant closed from school and met her aunt Charity Adenyo and the accused in their room at Ashaiman Lebanon.

According to Chief Insp Adjei, the girl said a few minutes later, both the accused and his lover left the house, leaving the complainant, who had been ordered by her aunt to fetch water from a nearby standpipe into their barrel.

While the complainant was fetching the water, Yakubu came back to the house and entered room.

The accused called the complainant to collect money to be given to her aunt, but when she entered, the accused locked the door and had sexual intercourse with her.

Chief Insp Adjei said after the act, Yakubu gave the complainant GH¢5 and warned her not to disclose her ordeal to her aunt.

However, when the aunt of the victim returned home and realised a change in the way the girl walked, she questioned her and she narrated the incident to her.

A complaint was lodged with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), Ashaiman where a medical report was issued to the complainant to attend hospital for medical examination after which the accused was arrested.

Yakubu is to re-appear on November 3.
