Philips Organises ‘Walk To Life’ Campaign

philipsAbout 200 people in Accra on Saturday participated in a “walk to life” campaign organised by Philips, a leading technology company.

The campaign formed part of the  Cairo to Cape Town Roadshow to create platform for the company to engage and dialogue with customers, government officials, non-governmental organisations and the media to ascertain the country’s requirement and develop technology to meet their needs.

The walk which began at the Aviation Social Centre through some principal streets involved staff from Philips, individuals and other corporate organisations.

Participants were given Philips products to motivate them to participate in subsequent programmes.

Addressing participants after the walk, the managing director for West Africa, Abdullah Khamis, said the walk formed part of the company’s healthcare programmes that sought to promote health lives.

He noted that the company, through innovations, continued to address the local needs of its customers to enhance their lives.

He explained that the VISIQ is an ultra sound mobile device that provide quality ultrasound images by performing fetal well-being exams for expectant mothers and that the device also diagnose abdominal bleeding.

Mr Khamis added that the device was to help curb the maternal mortality rate since the introduction of the VISIQ is expected to improve healthcare delivery.   By Bernard Benghan
