A statement signed by the association’s General Secretary, Anthony Baffoe said, the former Accra Great Olympics, Hearts of Oak, Ashgold and Starlets coach, Jones, was a man of great attributes whose presence changed everything he touched positively.
“The PFAG extends our condolence to the family of Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, the football fraternity and Ghanaians in general. We are sorry for the loss and our thoughts are with the family during these difficult times.”
According to the statement, the news of his demise was received with pain and bitterness. He was an outstanding footballer in Ghana and went on to become a great coach.
“We feel very proud to have been associated with Sir Jones. We believe memories of his works will continue to inspire ex and current footballers to strive to achieve more. His life was a well lived one and will be celebrated accordingly as we seek to imbibe in the younger generation his positive attributes, just as he did.”
