The Head Pastor and General Overseer of Solid Foundation Prayer Ministry International (SFPMI), the Reverend Mrs. Vida Anyang, has reiterated the call on political actors to desist from making divisive and abusive comments.
The head pastor urged politicians to engage in issues-based campaign and avoid using indecent language.
Rev. Anyang was speaking at the church’s 15 years anniversary celebrations yesterday at New-Weija in Accra.
“We are in a dangerous time and we plead with our leaders to be careful with what they say. They should avoid making provocative speeches in order not to bring misunderstanding among themselves, especially as we draw close to election in the country,” she said.
“Our leaders should rather make their vision for the country clear to Ghanaians since that is what will make the people vote for them rather than making unnecessary speeches which can bring tension in our dear country” Rev. Anyang stressed.
She asked her colleague pastors to desist from predicting the outcome of elections and rather pray for peaceful polls.
“There is no need for pastors to involve themselves in such acts. What the country needs now is prayers from us pastors,” Rev. Anyang said.
