Pacquiao attracts stars

PacMANNY Pacquiao received an unexpected visit from another sports star while he was training this weekend.

Tim Tebow, a former American football star, went to see Pacquiao, who is preparing to fight Floyd Mayweather on May 2.

Manilla-born Tebow, who was a National Football League quarterback, watched the Filipino boxing superstar train for nearly three hours at the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The session included seven rounds of sparring and eight rounds of punching the mitts held by Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach.

“It was the first time they had ever met and yet it seemed they had known each other forever, the way they immediately embraced each other,” promoter Bob Arum said.

Pacquiao and Mayweather are scheduled to clash in Las Vegas on May 2 in a welterweight bout that is expected to shatter boxing revenue records.
