Ghana Football Association (GFA) Technical Director, Francis Oti Akenten, has called for unflinching support for under-fire Black Stars trainer Avram Grant as he leads them to 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Grant has come under serious bashing after the Black Stars failed to win their first FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifying group against Uganda.
The Black Stars have lost one and drawn three of their last four matches.
Akenten says criticisms of the Israeli will be justified if he fails to win the Nations Cup in Gabon, reports Ghanasoccernet.
“We have given him [Avram Grant] the job. Even if you said you were not there, you mandated me to act on your behalf which we have done. So let’s hold on and support him, give him all what he needs to be able to deliver,” he said on Ultimate Radio in Kumasi.
“At the end of the day when we are evaluating him, we will be able to tell him but we did this for you, we gave you this, we gave you that all to aid you or facilitate your work so why couldn’t you be there at the time.”
