One person was killed and three others sustained gunshot wounds in Sovie in the Kpando Municipality, when two feuding factions in a chieftaincy dispute exchanged gunfire openly on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified by the police as Fabian Mensah Vidzro, 56.
The Kpando Police Divisional Commander, Mr. Thomas Tindo told The Ghanaian Times here yesterday that the incident took place at a funeral ground in the town in the evening.
He said that the deceased was shot in the neck during the brutal exchanges between the two factions.
According to Mr. Tindo, the assailant, who was also injured, had been arrested, adding that he is currently under police guard at an undisclosed health facility.
He said the other three injured persons have been treated at the Anfoega Catholic Hospital and discharged.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commander said that a search has been mounted for three more men in connection with the shooting incident and the police have intensified security in the area to forestall a possible reprisal attack.
