Last week, the staff of MMTL staged a nationwide strike to demand the removal of the Deputy Manager of the company, John Awuku Duazah, for his alleged involvement in the disappearance of the company’s 12 buses.

Following that action, both the Managing Director, Noble Appiah and Mr. Duazah were asked to step aside to allow investigations into the allegations of corruption at the company, while the Board of Directors was also dissolved.

A new Managing Director, Brigadier-General Ishmael Quartey, was appointed to man the company. He assumed office on Monday.
