Dozens of past students of Okuapeman Senior High School (OKUASS), at Akropong –Akuapem in the Eastern Region, participated in a health walk in Accra at the weekend as part of activities marking the school’s 60th anniversary celebration.

The event was part of efforts to mobilise the alumni of OKUASS towards supporting the development of the school.

In addition, the event, which had participation from members of the various year groups, teachers and current students, was to create a platform for networking among the alumni, popularly known as “Adehye.”

It came ahead of the official launch of the school’s 60th anniversary which would be climaxed at the school in February next year.

The organisation of the walk was led by the 1987 year group, which is also spearheading the celebration of the anniversary.

Nana Yaw Dekyem Attafuah, National President of the old students association, addressing the participants after the walk, encouraged the members to contribute more to the sustenance and growth of their alma mater.

He called for more collaboration among the members to explore development opportunities for the school.
