A statement issued in Accra yesterday and signed by Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte, acting Executive Director of the scheme, said the secretariat had started receiving lists of final year students from various tertiary institutions.
It therefore, appealed to tertiary institutions that had not yet submitted their final year class lists to do so without further delay.
According to the statement, as part of the ongoing reforms in the operations of the scheme all prospective national service personnel would be required to provide their national identification numbers, SSNIT numbers, as well as e-zwich account numbers as part of the registration process.
It said, these requirements were necessary and needed to serve as a buffer check for the scheme to track and eliminate personnel, who completed their national service in previous years, but attempted to register again.
“All prospective national service personnel should take serious note of the requirement and comply, since failure to produce the required information would make it impossible to go through the online enrolment process,” it concluded.
