The Nsawam District Police Command has commenced investigations into the death an unidentified man at Chinto Zongo near Nsawam in the Eastern Region on Tuesday.

The deceased believed to be in his thirties, was found by the police in a prostrate position in mud with deep wounds on the forehead and chin.

Superintendent of Police (Supt) Marian Osei Adu-Owusu, the Nsawam District Commander, confirmed the tragedy to the Ghanaian Times here.

She said the police had information about the murder, and dispatched personnel to the scene and they found the body of a male adult, 40 meters from the road, with deep wounds on the forehead and chin.

Supt Adu-Owusu said the police conveyed the body to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for autopsy.

He said the police was leaving no stone unturned to arrest the culprits to face the law, and appealed to the public to provide credible information to assist the police to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.

‘’Policing is a shared responsibility, we need the collaboration of the public to prevent crimes in the communities,’ Supt Adu-Owusu  stressed.
