NSA boss inspects sports facilities in V/R

DIRECTOR-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Prof. Peter Twumasi, has paid a familiarization tour to the Volta Regional office of the Authority and also acquainted himself with the progress of work on the sports facilities in the region.

His working visit also took him to the Ho Sports Stadium and the multi-purpose youth resource centre which construction is progressing smoothly.

Professor Twumasi, who assumed office, last December, expressed contentment about developments, assuring all of President Nana Ado Dankwa Akuffo Addo’s “avowed commitment” to building sports infrastructure across the country.

“The President said it right. He meant every word he said as he’s committed to building sports infrastructure here just as he doing for the other regions,” he stressed.

He also lauded the ‘untiring’ efforts of the regional staff and was predominantly touched by the successful establishment of Districts Sports Units in all the assemblies of the region by the management of Kwame Amponfi Jnr, the Volta Regional Sports Director.

“I must commend the Director and your management for democratizing sports and making the District Assemblies own sport development and promotion of the grassroots,” Prof Twumasi said.

The NSA capo also acknowledged the continuous support of the Chief Executive of Home Company Limited, Mr. Joe Ayivor, to the development of sports in the region, pledging to honour him tremendously in due course.
