NPP polling station executives appeal for jobs

A group calling itself Coalition of New Patriotic Party (NPP) polling station executives has appealed to the government, to consider Mr. Musah Muntawakilu for the position of Northern Area Manager for Microfinance and Small Loan Centre (MASLOC).

According to the group, Mr. Muntawakil, the Tamale Central Constituency Secretary of the party, is among a number of qualified constituency executive committee members denied positions they have applied for.

A statement issued and copied The Ghanaian Times by Mohammed Gadafi, Secretary of the coalition, said the petition followed rumours that government was going to appoint an “unknown individual to that portfolio”.

The statement alleged marginalisation of their members in the four constituencies of the Tamale metro and Sagnarigu district of the Northern Region.

The statement said the coalition would not accept the appointment of any unknown person.

“We wish to crave your indulgence that, we shall not accept any individual who is not familiar with us at the grassroots. In fact, we equally have qualified personalities who can man the affairs of that office.”

The statement mentioned  Mr. Musah Mutawakilu, Secretary,  Tamale Central, Adam Yussif, Chairman, Tamale North Constituency for Sagnarigu District Chief Executive (DCE) as some members of the Coalition denied appointment or yet to be appointed.

Others are Yakubu Abdallah Iddrisu, Secretary, Tamale North, for the Sagnarigu district National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Manager, Adam Mohammed Bukari, Sagnarigu Constituency Chairman and Abu Mohammed, Secretary for Tamale South as Tamale metro NHIS manager.

“As party officers, we have worked with these constituency executives and there is a solid and cordial relationship established among us in the area.”

“We wish to avert a situation where our party will be in power and our fate still in the balance. Do you imagine life a day without employment?”
