The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), has been honoured with the “Best Enterprise” award for the year 2015 by the prestigious Socrates Committee of the Europe Business Assembly.
The Chief Executive Officer of NPA, Moses Asaga, was also given the “Best Manager” award for the same year.
The awards were given at a ceremony at the film-festival city of Cannes, France, a statement signed in Accra by the Manager, Public Relations and Consumer Services, Yaro Kasambata, said.
“The Socrates Committee of the Europe Business Assembly has in the last 15 years recognised leaders in business, science, education and culture from over twenty countries,” it said
The statement said: “The international prize for ‘Best Enterprise’ is for professional achievements in commercial activities and quality.”
Socrates Nomination Committee nominated individuals and organisations based on recommendation from local respondents and players of the local industry.
In the case of the NPA and its Chief Executive, the statement said the Socrates Nomination Committee received recommendations from players in the downstream petroleum industry.
“The NPA was nominated for successfully implementing the policy of petroleum deregulation and being innovative in using cutting edge technology to improve the monitoring of petroleum product quality in the supply chain of the petroleum downstream in Ghana,” it said.
