The authorities of the Northern School of Business Senior High (NOBISCO) yesterday closed down the school temporarily, following last week’s students’ disturbance.
According to the authorities, the action was to help protect school property being destroyed by the angry students.
Some of the students, on Wednesday night, went on the rampage and destroyed the windows of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory in protest over punishments meted out to them for going to town without permission.
On March 6, some students of the school went to town without permission, and this was detected during a roll call conducted. Those absent were asked to buy four bags of cement, but that did not go down well with them as they described the action of the school authorities as ‘wicked’.
The students rather went on the rampage and destroyed windows of the ICT Laboratory and the telephone booth.
Those students outside the Northern Region are facing difficulties in leaving the school’s premises, as they complain of not having money to transport themselves back home.
The headmaster, Mr Inusah Nuhu could not be reached at the time of filing this report as his phones were off.
Information available to The Ghanaian Times has it that some of the teachers have sent the headmaster to court for trying to promote indiscipline in the school.
Mr. Nuhu was recently transferred to the school from Gusheigu Senior High School.
