‘Normalisation C’ttee members passed eligibility checks’

A member of the newly formed Normalisation Committee, Mr. Kofi Dua-Adonteng has revealed that all four persons on the committee have passed the FIFA eligibility test.

Responding to concerns whether the four have passed the checks proposed by FIFA/CAF for members to serve on the committee, Mr. Dua-Adonteng explained that every member of the committee successfully went through before their appointment.

The committee, chaired by Dr Kofi Amoah has Mr. Dua-Adonteng, Mrs Lucy Quist and Naa Odofoley Nortey as members.

FIFA’s Manager of Member Association, Mr. Luca Nicola at the announcement said the final confirmation of the members remains conditional upon a successful completion of eligibility checks to be carried out by FIFA Review Committee in accordance with the FIFA governance regulations.

Mr. Dua-Adonteng told Accra based Asempa FM yesterday that the ex-Kotoko Board Member says all members on the committee passed the eligibility check before being appointed onto the committee.

“Personally, I had my turn with the committee and spent over 45 minutes with them, where they tested my knowledge in sports, association with the sport, my managerial background as well as other integrity test.”

On whether the committee could complete work within the stipulated time, the former Managing Director of Ghana Telecom and Ghana Post said the committee was yet to assess the work load and was not in a position to give that assurance.

“We have just been appointed so we will need some time to know the real work to be done. Maybe after that assessment, we will be in a better position to give assurances over timelines but presently, I can’t address that.

The committee held its first meeting in Osu yesterday.
