No basic school for Mangoase Dedewa – Chief sends SOS to government

The people of Mangoase Dedewa Aframsu Nyirakrom in the Eastern region are in dire need of a basic school,  Nii Jormo Adjabeng Kwaku I Chief of the area has said.

The chief, who was speaking at the Yam and Homowo festival celebrations at the weekend, said the government must as a matter of urgency provide a school for the community to enable their children to attend school.

“Education is very important for every Ghanaian child and the kids within the fast developing community currently do not have access to a school,” he stated.

The children he said for lack of a school only assist their parents on the farms while their age mates elsewhere were in school.

“The future of the kids is currently shaking as some of them could be brilliant and excel academically when they have access to schools,” he stressed.

He also called for the construction of a hospital as well as fixing of their roads which was in avery bad state.

“That is the main road connecting other communities including, Governor, Yaw Buedi, Mangoase through to Teacher Mantey and must be fixed for the people to carry out their activities comfortably,” he stressed.

He called for unity among the elders of the community in order to develop the area for future generations.

He explained that, they decided to celebrate the Howomo festival the community for the first time since the people in the area originated from Osu in Accra
