The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has donated a cheque for GH¢ 13,500 to the Neuro Science Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) in support of Cybil Hayford, a nine-year-old girl suffering from brain tumour.

The surgery is scheduled for June 26.Mr Fiifi Amissah, Manager Special Project, presenting the cheque on behalf of NLA, said the donation, which was in response to a request from the patient’s father, formed part of the NLA’s corporate social responsibility.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Unit, Ms Emelia Okai, Principal Nursing Officer in- charge of the Unit, thanked NLA for the gesture, and that appealed to individuals and organisations to assist other children who needed medical attention their parents could not afford.

Mr. Dominic Hayford, father of the patient, thanked NLA for the assistance and hoped that the surgery would be successful to enable his daughter to a live normal life.
