Family of Nii Tackie Obli II, 63, popularly called Ayitey Canada, observed the 40 days of his passing at the weekend.
The late Ayitey Canada was one of the contestants of the Ga stool.
Addressing the gathering after a Muslim prayer to mark the solemn occasion, Nii Okang Osiahene IV, Ga Stool Father of Abola Piam, urged for peace and unity in the Ga State.
He said efforts were being made to settle family disputes amicably, and urged all the family members to bury their differences and live together for the progress of Ga Mashie.
“Our differences can be resolved by ourselves amicably as family members,” he said.
Nii Okang stated that the final funeral rites of Nii Tackie Obli would take place next year.
He advised the supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure peace for the December 7 polls.
Nii Tackie Obli II died on Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Accra, and after consultations, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I, Obilieman Mantse was appointed to act on behalf of the family.
