Nigerian remanded for robbery

A Nigerian, Kingsley Ifechukwu Nwoke, has been remanded by an Accra circuit court for robbing George Koduah Hamilton of GH¢110,000.00.

Nwoke, and Ebuka, at large, are facing charges of conspiracy to commit crime, and robbery.

The accused, who pleaded guilty to all the charges, was remanded into police custody by the court, presided over by Mr.Aboagye Tandoh, until August 31.

Detective Inspector Isaac Agbemehia, told the court that on August 9, Mr. Hamilton, a graduate, residing at East legon, a suburb in Accra, in the company of a witness, Felix Tetteh Kennedy, cashed a cheque of GH¢150,000.00 from the bank and kept the money in the booth of his vehicle.

On their way home, they were caught in traffic at the airport area.

Kingsley with other accomplices on motorbikes trailed and caught up with the car, smashed the back screen and took one of two envelopes containing

GH¢110,000.00  and passed it on to the other accomplices.

In an attempt to abscond, they rode in the opposite direction of the road, and collided with a taxi cab.

The taxi driver, together with Felix Tetteh, arrested Nwoke, but the others escaped with the booty.
