Nigerian in custody for stabbing man to death

arrestA 48-year-old Nigerian has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing a man to death over a missing mobile phone.
Thompson Peter was said to have stabbed, Misbau Amadu, 27, in the head with a knife during a confrontation between them over his phone.

Misbau Amadu was rushed to Mary Lucy Hospital, Awoshie, Accra, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors at the health facility.
Inspector Kwabena Danso, the Deputy Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer told Ghanaian Times that about a week ago, Peter reported to the police that Amadu, had stolen his mobile phone.
He said police proceeded to the residence of Amadu with the intention to investigate the case, but he could not be located.
Insp. Danso said at about 10am, on August 17, 2017, Peter again reported that he had spotted Amadu, adding that a detective was dispatched to the area to apprehend Amadu, but he managed to escape.
He said Amadu later went to Peter’s house to attack him with a knife for reporting the case to the police.
Inspector Danso said according to Peter, he managed to overpower Amadu and stabbed him during the fight.
Insp Danso said Peter is in custody assisting investigation while the body has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy.
