NIB opens Asokwa branch

OTUMFOUR PIX 2The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has commissioned the Asokwa branch of the National Investment Bank (NIB).

The opening brings to 31 the number of branches the bank has opened throughout the country.

Addressing the ceremony Otumfuo challenged all commercial banks in the country to adopt measures and plans that would expose the mystery over the decisions of some Ghanaians to keep huge sums of monies in their homes irrespective of its associated dangers.

He said there was the need for banks to roll up attractive and innovative measures to entice the unbanked and mobilise liquidity.

While, commending the bank for its transformation within the past two years, he challenged them to ensure that all debts owed the bank were retrieved.

Otumfuo asked the bank to sell investment ideas to its borrowers so that monies loaned them will not be used on unprofitable ventures.

On his part Mr. Ernest  Agbesi, the Managing Director of the bank said, the move by the bank to roll out more branches was to bring its products and services closer to consumers.

He said plans were far advanced to open more branches in the country before the end of the year.
