New multi-purpose sports complex for Kokomlemle

A multi-purpose sports complex under construction by the Afro-Arab Group of Companies in Kokomlemle, Accra will soon be completed and named after the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Ghana, Mr. Khalifa Yousif Alzaabi.

This was announced on Wednesday by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alhaji Salamu Amadu when the Ambassador visited the Corporate Headquarters of the Afro Arab Group in Accra.

According to the CEO, the facility will be named the ‘Emirates – Khalifa Yousif Alzaabi – Afro Arab Sports Complex.’

It will have a standard artificial football pitch, a gaming centre, a boxing gymnasium as well as an events centre.

Ambassador Alzaabi was impressed with the Group’s business strategies and performance and commended it for the provision of sports infrastructure within the community they operate.

He was hopeful the facility would be beneficial to the neighbouring communities including Kokomlemle, Accra New Town, Maamobi, Nima and Kanda.

“Afro-Arab wants the facility to serve as a sporting hub for all residents of Kokomlemle and its surrounding areas. This is our way of giving back to the community for their support over the years,” he said.

The Afro-Arab Group founded in January 2007 is a member of the Ghana Gulf Chamber of Commerce (GGCC).
