The National Media Commission (NMC) in consultation with President John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Ms. Carol Annang, Chief Executive Officer of New World Securities, as Managing Director of New Times Corporation (NTC).

The appointment, which takes effect from January 2, 2015, lasts for four years.

Ms. Annang, a product of Achimota School and the University of Ghana, holds a B.Sc Administration in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a Marketing option.

During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the new Managing Director, Ambassador Kabral Blay Amihere, Chairman of the NMC, said the NTC is full of potentials that could be transformed into a viable venture but needs a skillful and dynamic person to drive the goals and expertise of the Corporation.

He recounted the viability of the Corporation over the years saying it was one of the leading media organisations in the country, and it is at the stage of take- off.

He therefore called on the management and staff to co-operate with the new Managing Director to bring her knowledge and expertise to bear on the Corporation.

Mr. Amihere also commended the acting Managing Director, Mrs. Tina Aforo-Yeboah, for holding the fort while the Commission searched for a substantive Managing Director.

A member of the NTC Board, Mr. Charles Van Dyck assured the new Chief Executive of their full support in the discharge of her duties.

Ms. Annang, for her part, thanked the Commission and assured it of her preparedness to work with the support of God.
