NDC Slates Dec. 13 For National Polls

Aseidu Nketia (3)The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has settled on Saturday, December 13 for its much-anticipated congress.

A decision on the new date was reached on Tuesday, by the party’s Functional Executive Committee.

The party had scheduled October 24 to hold the congress but had to postpone it as a result of several injunctions slapped on the constituency, and by extension regional elections thus affecting the national poll.

Since the mandate of the current executive was to end in December, the party is racing against time to hold its congress to fend off any further legal wranglings.

The party would also elect its national youth and women’s congresses on December 6, in Kumasi and Wa, respectively.

According to the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, nominations for all positions have been effectively opened.
