“The NDC urges Ghanaians to use the occasion to remind ourselves of the need to continue to uphold the principles of the founding fathers, which are enshrined in the country’s motto- freedom and justice,” it said

The statement further reminded the citizenry that hard work had culminated in the unity and peace enjoyed over the five decades of independence, saying it is the expectation of the NDC that Ghanaians maintained peace and stability.

“The NDC is committed to the course of democratic governance and would not relent on its oars to collaborate with stakeholders to nurture and sustain it.”

“We wish to indicate that we are committed to the course of democratic governance being pursued by Ghana, and would not relent in our efforts to collaborate with all stakeholders to nurture and sustain multi-party rule in Ghana.”

“The party, therefore, urged Ghanaians to remember “the sacrifices of our forefathers, workers, farmers, fishermen, the security services, women, the youth and all Ghanaians who have toiled to bring the country this far.”

“We hope their examples would inspire the current generation in our efforts to build a better Ghana,” the statement added.
