Nayele’s mum granted bail

The mother of Nayele Ametefe, the lady serving eight years, eight months for smuggling 12.5 kilograms of cocaine into the United Kingdom who was arrested by the Airport Police for assaulting officials of the Narcotic Control Board, has been granted bail.

She is said to have attacked one of the officials who tried to snap a shot of Nayele’s residence.

She is also alleged to have torn the notice of seizure on her East Legon house and other property, in accordance with section 36 of PNDC Law 236.

Nayele was arrested at the Heathrow Airport in London in November last year, for attempting to smuggle cocaine into the UK.

At the time of her arrest, she had in her possession US$23,000 and 6,000 Pound Sterling which are currently in the custody of the UK Border Agency.
