Nana Konadu Will Not Return To NDC

Nana-Konadu-Agyeman-RawlingsThe Director of Communications of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu Bempah, has rubbished media reports that the party’s founder, Nana Konadu Agyemang- Rawlings, is returning to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Media reports on Tuesday stated that the former vice chairperson of the NDC was rejoining the party.

The former first lady left the NDC and went on to form the National Democratic Party.

However, Mr. Bempah, in an interview with Citi News downplayed the publication, stating that the NDP founder had no intentions of returning to the NDC.

“It is a lie, it is not true,” he stated when asked to comment on the media reports

He described the newspaper publications “a propaganda agenda by certain elements within the government circles.”

Mr. Bempah indicated “that it is an attempt by some members of the NDC government to tarnish the image of our party [NDP], a strategy to destroy our party and destroy the former first lady which should be treated with the contempt it deserves.”

Mr. Bempah hinted that the leadership of the party would soon put the names of those trying to destroy the party out there and consider taking legal action against the newspapers.
