The deceased, whose name was given only as Ma, was said to be the owner of the building meant for a restaurant-cum-casino and hotel. He was said to have arrived in the morning and after inspecting the facility and a brief interaction with some of the staff and the foreman, climbed upstairs followed by an  unidentified Chinese who arrived with two others in a white car. The suspect, currently at large, is said to have bandaged his arm under which he concealed the gun. Suddenly, there was a violent sound and a few seconds later, the unidentified man descended with a gun. He was said to have been pursued by the deceased with blood all over his body and alleged to have had a gun in his hands but fell while the suspect escaped. Ma was conveyed in an ambulance to the Tema General Hospital by some other Chinese who arrived at the scene but he was pronounced dead on arrival. A staff of the place, Emmanuel Obasi said the incident had disrupted work and lamented that attempts by some staff to apprehend the suspect was not successful as he rushed into the parked vehicle and drove off with his colleagues. The police and some officials of the Immigration Service have visited the crime scene. The Tema Community One Police Commander, Superintendent Ben Wonkyi when contacted by The Ghanaian Times, declined to comment saying “The matter is still under investigation.”
