MP donates equipment to hospital

Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency, Kobla Mensah Woyome has donated medical and office equipment to the South Tongu District Health Directorate at Sogakope in the Volta Region.

The donation was in fulfillment of a request made to him last year by the health directorate.

Mr. Woyome entreated management to take good care of the equipment to prolong their lifespan for the benefit of all.

The equipment included an ultrasound scanner, haemoglobin analysers, a refrigerator, a photocopier and a lawn mower.

Mr. Woyome also supported the directorate with an amount of GHC150,000 towards the installation of an Osmoses Reverse equipment to treat borehole water at the hospital.

He disclosed that a trauma centre would be established at the hospital to manage trauma cases.

According to him when established, trauma cases would no longer be referred but handled at the district.

The District Health Director, Mrs. Florence Gyaase- Nketiah, promised to take good care of the equipment to ensure quality health delivery.

She said the equipment would be given to other health facilities in the district to improve health delivery services at all levels.

According to Mrs. Gyaase- Nketiah, water supply to the hospital is of grave concern to the hospital management and they had to spend a lot to buy water as everything they did must be done with water.

She appealed to benevolent individuals and organisations to come to the aid of the hospital to help solve the water supply situation, as water is the most essential commodity at health facilities.
