MCE Rallies Support For Manya Krobo SHS

SchoolThe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo, Mr. Jacob Fredrick Kwame Acolatse has urged old students of Manya Krobo Senior High School to contribute to the development of the school.

He said considering the financial and infrastructural constraints confronting public schools, there was the need for past students to assist by contributing to meet the needs of their secondary schools

That, he said would enable the schools to offer quality education to the present and future students, as enjoyed by the past students.

Speaking at a meeting of Manya Krobo Senior High School Old Students Association (MAKOSA) in Accra on Saturday, Mr. Acolatse said as much as government was determined to undertake new projects and complete stalled projects, there was a need for other stakeholders, particularly old students to complement such efforts.

He said apart from the contribution to the physical development of their alma mater, the old students could offers voluntary teaching exercises and motivational talks on carrier guidance to inspire the students.

That, he said, would enable the past students to serve as role models for the students noting that it was important that young people were inspired by their role models.

As a associate of the school, the MCE assured the old students of the support of the Municipal Assembly for the school, indicating that the Assembly considers the education a priority.

The President of the Old Students’ Association, Mr. Jacob Amoako expressed gratitude to the MCE for the assurance of support from the Assembly, and also pledged the commitment of the members towards the progress of the school.

He announced that the association was planning to organise a homecoming in October this year to brainstorm and raise funds for the infrastructural development of the school
