The tennis enthusiast also announced the adoption of eight players to be nurtured by his organization on a special scholarship to become one of the best in the sport.

The scholarship beneficiaries, he said, would be camped at the Winneba Sports College to combined tennis and their academics and subsequently sent to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) center in Morocco for two years for further development.

Winners at the juniors Open were each presented with GH¢2,000 with the runners up receiving GH¢1,500 and semi finalists taking home GH¢1,000.

Coaches Noah Bukari Bagerbaseh and Asare Noah also received cash rewards of $1000 each for assisting in the development of the players.

Mr McKorley explained that based on their performance, they would be sent to the United States where they would be exposed to the best facilities in order to develop their potential.

“We have outstanding young players especially at the Under 12 and 14 level which with hard work and determination could make it to the top,” he stated.

He added that, with the performance displayed by the kids at the Junior Championship, they would undoubtedly become the best by the age of 18.

He urged the players to be disciplined in camp in order to make the nation proud.
