A telecommunication mast mounted on top of a storey building at the Kojokrom lorry station, in the central business district of the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, collapsed on a kiosk, injuring the storekeeper.

The injured, Abdul Laziz Mumuni, 36, who suffered head injuries, is on admission at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, receiving treatment, the Ghanaian Times gathered.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Olivia Ewurabana Adiku, said at about 2.30p.m. on Tuesday, while commercial business was peaking in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, one of the masts mounted on top of a storey building at the Kojokrom lorry station, at the Market Circle, Takoradi, suddenly collapsed and fell on a Toyota mini bus with the registration number  AC 1246-16.

ASP Adiku added that the mast also hit and injured Abdul Laziz Mumuni, who was in a kiosk nearby, at the time of the incident.

“Mumuni sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Effia Nkwanta Government Hospital where he is responding to treatment,” ASP Adiku told the Ghanaian Times.
