Madam Ivy Manly-Spain, Chief Executive Officer of three companies operating in Ghana’s oil and gas sector has been adjudged as the Best Oil Marketer of the Year 2015.

The companies are Hills Oil Marketing, Oil and Gas Limited and Globex Energy Limited.

Madam Manly-Spain also received the Woman of Excellence Award and LPG Marketing Company of the Year Award.

The awards, which were conferred on her at the Ghana Oil & Gas Award (GOGAS) held in Accra, was in recognition of her immerse contribution to the increased in supply of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the country.

A citation accompanying the awards read: “You are an astute and highly experienced player in the petroleum industry, having successfully initiated and managed three companies in the industry.

“You have also incorporated an LPG marketing company to ensure that dealers are supplied regularly, consistently and promptly. This has been the hallmark of the company which has attracted a lot of dealers to the brand across the country”.

Following the perennial gas shortage in Ghana, Madam Manly-Spain in her bid to solve the problem, procured 35 brand new Man Diesel trucks built to suit the local environment and Ghana Gas specifications to deliver the product to consumers nationwide.

Her companies have created jobs for about 200 people across the country.

Commenting, Madam Manly-Spain said that she had come into the oil industry, which hitherto was the preserve of the male gender, to contribute her quota towards national development, since the private sector was the engine of growth.

She commended all her staff, both administrative and technical, for their support and urged them to continue with their hard work for the progress of the companies and the nation.
