Man remanded for robbing student

 A 19-year-old unemployed, who attacked and robbed a student on his way to church, has been remanded by the Nkawie Circuit Court in the Atwima-Nwabiagya municipality.

 Accused, Razak Mohammed, also known as, Kingsley Effah, together with two accomplices, who were on the run, was said to have attacked Anthony Oppong Nimo, a 16-year-old student of the Nkawie Senior High Technical School, on his way to attend church service.

 Accused pleaded not guilty and would reappear in court in two weeks’ time.

 Police Inspector Ruth Gborson told the court presided by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey that on May 12, this year, at about 9am, Mohammed, together with his accomplices, attacked and robbed the student of his mobile phone and inflicted scissors wounds on him.

 Prosecution said on May 13, this year, the accused was arrested at Atwima-Agogo, and he admitted the offence in his cautioned statement. – GNA
