Man remanded for murdering wife at Dansoman

The 48-year-old man, Prince Korle Commodore, who allegedly murdered his wife in cold blood, at Shiabu, a suburb of Dansoman, in Accra, was yesterday remanded into police custody by an Accra Magistrates Court.

This is to enable the accused to assist the police in investigations.

Commodore would reappear before court on November 13.

A police source told the Ghanaian Times that two children of the husband and wife were currently in the custody of the family pastor (name withheld).

The police source said the traumatised children, who witnessed the murder of their mother, would be counselled to assist them recover from the shock.

Residents of Shaibu were thrown into a state of shock over the news of the alleged murder of Dorcas Anafi Commodore  by her husband last Sunday dawn.

Commodore, was reported to have stabbed  his wife several times with a kitchen knife in the presence of their two children who are between the ages five and eight years.

He drove the children out and locked himself in the room with the deceased wife.

The couple, both traders, are reported to have been married for the past nine years.
