Man killed after processing forms for Police enlistment

A 24-year-old man met his untimely death soon after processing documents for enlistment into the Ghana Police Service at Sunyani on Friday.

He got trapped between a tipper truck loaded with chippings and a concrete entrance.

Abdul Salifu, went to Sunyani from Kremo-krom, a suburb of Atronie in the Sunyani East District, to start the process of the enlistment.

Eye-witnesses said he was walking by the side of the road with his documents when he got trapped between the entrance of Silver House, a popular drinking spot, and the side of an 18- cubic metres tipper truck.

According to sources, the truck, loaded with chippings, was parking on the concrete slabs covering the gutter in front of the drinking spot when the slabs caved in, trapping Salifu in the process.

He died before he could be removed.

The body has been deposited at the Sunyani mortuary.
