Prince Dadzie, an 18-year-old unemployed man of Assin Bosomadwe in the Central Region, was on Tuesday sentenced to eight years imprisonment by a Cape Coast Circuit Court, for defiling a 15-year-old girl.

The convict, pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement, and asked the court to deal with him leniently, but he was sentenced on his own plea by Ms. Audrey Kocuvie-Tay, the presiding judge.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Charles Hevi said that  Dadzie ,  the  victim and  the her father reside in the same  town and on Wednesday March 30,  at about  8:30am, Dadzie sent for  the  victim through her younger sister.

The court heard that Dadzie told the victim that she was being haunted by the spirit of someone she had insulted, and they all left to their homes.

Chief Insp. Hevi said Dadzie later invited the victim to his house through her younger sister, and when the girl came, Dadzie led her into his room, gagged her and had sexual intercourse with her, after which he gave her Gh¢5.00.

The victim, who was bleeding from her vagina after the ordeal, reported the case to her father, who informed the police about it.
