Mr.Yaw Otoo a property agent, who allegedly sold a land that do not belong to him, has been granted a GH¢200,000 bail by an Accra Circuit Court.

Otoo, allegedly offered four plots of land at Baatsona to two persos at GH¢480,000 out of which he collected GH¢120,000.00 as part-payment.

But a search conducted by the victims at the Lands Commission, revealed that the plots rather belonged to another firm, Koiwah Investment Company Limited and not his company, Ikson Properties Agency.

Mr. Aboagye Tandoh, who presided over the case, granted bail to the accused, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of “fraudulent land transaction,” and asked that the two persons stand surety for him (accused) one to be justified.

The court adjourned the case to March 16, 2016.

Prosecuting  Chief Superintendent Duuti Tuaneka, told the court that Madam Felicity Agyepong Darpah and Ebo Hammond were both business partners working with HP Consult, in Accra, while the accused, Mr. Otoo, was the MD of Ikson Properties Agency Limited.

Chief Supt. Tuaneka said that someone by name Hammond during a conversation with one of the victims, mentioned that his employer had a land located at Baatsona for sale, and led him to see the MD (Otoo) in his office.

The prosecutor said Mr. Otoo confirmed during their interaction  that, indeed, the land belonged to his company and offered four plots for sale at the cost of GH¢480,000.00 and collected GH¢120,000 as part-payment between December 2014 and February 2015.

According to Chief Supt. Tuaneka, the complainants shortly after parting with the money, noticed that somebody was developing the land they had bought from the MD.

They became alarmed and conducted a search which revealed that, the land in question was rather the property of Koiwah Investment Company Limited, and a complaint was later lodged with police.
