Man, 38 remanded for cutlass attack on 8-year old boy

arrestJohn Ayaabah, 38,who inflicted cutlass wounds on an eight -year old boy at Afrifakrom, a village at  Domeabra, near Enchi in the Aowin District,  of the Western Region, was  last Monday,  remanded  by the Enchi District Court.

Ayaaba, alias Abigi Kusasi, pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful harm and would appear again in court on Tuesday,  for his  sentence.

Accused seized the boy (name withheld) from Yiwabra inflicted a deep cutlass wound on his head and escaped from the area.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ebenezer Anim Ofori, told the court presided over by Mr. Solomon Alomatu that, last Friday, Robert Ahorlu, 44, from Yiwabra, who spotted the victim with a deep cut on the head, accompanied him to report the case to the police.

He told the court that the previous day,  Ayaaba was spotted  moving with  the boy from Yiwabra towards Domeabra, but, on Friday, the victim was found lying at Afrifakrom  with cutlass wounds on  his head.

Meanwhile, “the cutlass had been retrieved,” ASP Ofori added.

He told the court that the boy was responding to treatment after a surgery operation at the Enchi Government Hospital.
