Man, 23, arrested with human head

arrestAlex Tetteh, 23, has been arrested by the Agona Nkwanta Police for attempting to sell the head of a 12- year-old boy he murdered at Bogoso, in the  Prestea Huni Valley District  of the Western Region.

According to the police, the suspect was arrested when he attempted to sell the human head, on Tuesday, at Sankro, a village near Dixcove, in the Ahanta West District.

The boy whose head had been severed for sale has been identified as a pupil of the Grace International School, Bogoso.

Two accomplices are on the run.

Confirming the story, the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, said about 5.17p.m. on Tuesday, the Dixcove Police arrested Tetteh  and sent him  to the Agona Nkwanta Police Station, together with the human head.

She explained that the suspect was arrested by a group of people of Sankro, when he was searching for a potential buyer of the head.

“Suspect claimed to have cut the head of the boy at Bogoso with his two accomplices. He is in police custody while the human head concealed in a black polythene bag has been conveyed to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital for preservation,” ASP Adiku added.

When the news broke, the people of Bogoso thronged the Bogoso Police Station, where one Mr. Peter Tetteh, identified the head as that of his 12-year-old son, a student of Grace International School, Bogoso.

Sources from the school indicated that the deceased attended the school in the morning, but he and pupils were sacked for non-payment of school fees.
