The La-Nkwantang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LANMA), has donated 3,000 pieces of uniforms to school children in the municipality.

Mr. Franklin Anku, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), presenting the package to the pupils, said the donation was in line with government’s effort to ensure that all children secured education without hindrances.

He said the assembly was committed to helping achieve effective Free Compulsory and Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) policy which remains a priority for the government.

“In line with government’s promise to make education free, the school uniforms are interventions to reduce the burden on parents in enrolling their children into school,” the MCE said.

Receiving the uniforms, the Municipal Director of Education, Madam Elizabeth Oduro Mensah, lauded the objective of the package and described it as a welcome relief.

That, she said would help to avoid the situation where some pupils reported at school in tattered clothes, adding that it would support her outfit’s efforts at enhancing the punctuality and retention of the pupils in school.
