Liverpool Move Thrills Balotelli’s Ghanaian Mother

BarwuahThe mum of Mario Balotelli is said to be thrilled that her bad boy son is returning ‘home’.

Rose Barwuah is chuffed he is coming back to England and when asked about his £16 million move to Merseyside, Rose, 48, beamed widely and gave the thumbs up sign.

Mario was this weekend undergoing a medical before signing for Liverpool.

The pair have endured a rocky relationship – but made up after she moved to Manchester following his move to City in 2010.

When Mario moved to AC Milan in January last year Rose, and his little sister Angel, 15, remained in the North West, living in a neat terraced house near Manchester Airport.

But now they will be hoping to see more of Mario – and girlfriend Fanny Neguesha – as he settles in at his new club.

While Mario will be raking in an estimated £120,000-a-week at Liverpool, Rose has been getting by on minimum wage working as a cleaner.

While he was at City Mario, 24, was a regular visitor to his mum’s home, often turning up in his camouflage Bentley.

He even treated his mum and sister to Christmas dinner at his £3 million mansion in the Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

Rose and her husband Thomas, who are from Ghana, gave Mario up for adoption when he was two and he was taken in by the wealthy Balotelli family.

They had been advised to give him up because they were living in a tiny flat in Brescia, Italy, and Mario had a life-threatening intestinal condition that was made worse by their cramped conditions.

In the past she has spoken of her attempts to rekindle her relationship with her famous son, saying: “Mario has been over to see me a few times.

“We don’t see each other all the time as he has his life and I have mine.”
