The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Krowor constituency, Mrs. Benita Sena Okity-Dua, has said that the welfare of the people of Teshie-Nungua is her topmost priority, and would do all she could to ensure that the area got the necessary development it deserved.
She said this during a sod-cutting ceremony to commence the construction of a taxi rank at Teshie First Junction, in the Ledzokuku Municipality in the Greater Accra Region recently.
The project which is estimated at GH¢95,000 is jointly financed by the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly and the Peoples’ Dialogue, a non-governmental organisation.
Mrs. Okity-Dua who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Fisheries told the constituents that there had been massive improvement on road network within the municipality over the four years of the Mahama-led government.
She said that the project which has been awarded to the Mega Works Construction Limited is expected to be completed in six weeks.
The Deputy Minister reiterated government’s commitment to infrastructure development especially in the area of road network within the municipality.
“I believe so much in my government. I believe so much in what our President is doing because for a country to move forward, we need to put infrastructure in place”, she noted.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Badu Tawiah also, said the purpose of the exercise was to upgrade the station into a complete taxi rank, so as to ease the burden of congestion on drivers and passengers during the rainy season, adding that the station would have toilet facilities and a shade for users.
