The resumption of the second round of the First Capital Plus has been extended by Premier League Premier League Board to June 7, 2015.
It was originally scheduled for May 17, 2015.
The extension has become necessary to enable the Local Back Stars to concentrate on the COSAFA Cup that will be held in South Africa in the middle of May and also enable Accra Hearts of Oak prepare adequately for their CAF Confederations Cup campaign against Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
In addition the players have played many more matches this season than any other season.
“The Elite Cup matches as well as the FA Cup Competition have provided the players with enough matches and it is prudent they are given some rest”, the source said.
“Some of the players have also played some of the national teams and respectfully have to spare them some time to prepare for the second round”, the source added.
The fixtures will be turned upside down to enable the clubs that met on match day 15 to face each other on match day 16.
