The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA), Ms. Rita Odoley Sowah, has commissioned an eight-sitter water closet toilet facility for the La Presbyterian Senior High School (SHS) in Accra.
The facility was built by the assembly through its internally generated f unds (IGF).
Speaking at a ceremony to officially hand over the facility to the school, Ms. Sowah said it would help curb the frequent loitering of students outside the school during and before classes with the excuse that they were attending to nature’s call.
She asked the school authorities, and the students to keep the facility in good shape at all times.
The La Presbyterian SHS and four other second cycle schools in the municipality, including Labone SHS, Saint Thomas Aquinas SHS, Armed Forces Secondary and Technical School and Saint Paul’s Anglican SHS were later presented with two sets of football jerseys and four football each.
The gesture, according to the Ms. Sowah, was to help promote football competition among the beneficiary schools in the municipality.
The MCE tasked the head of sports in the beneficiary schools to hit the ground running by organising football competition in order to identify talents to feed the national teams.
