La Dadekotopon gets new Municipal Chief Executive

The Reverend Solomon Kotey  Nikoi has been nominated by the President as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly.

He succeeds the late Gladys Maku Tsotsoo Mann- Dedey, who passed on in June this year.

According to a press release dated September 13, 2019, and signed by the Minister of Local Government,  Hajia Alima  Mahama,  ”the President in accordance with article 243(1)of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, Act 936, has nominated Mr Solomon Kotey-Nikoi as the Municipal Chief Executive for the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region.

It added: ”In view of the above, the  Regional Minister for Greater Accra, is requested to liaise with the Regional Electoral Commission, to conduct the confirmation  process of the nominated Chief Executive.” 

Rev Kotey-Nikoi described by members of the constituency as an affable team player, rose through the ranks of the party which he joined as foundation member of the Kufuor Fan Club in 1994.

He first became the constituency treasurer in 2009 and then the Vice Chairman in 2013.

Combining effectively with the lawyer Frank Davies, Rev Kotey -Nikoi, who was instrumental in the 2016 elections contributed effectively to the NPP winning the constituency seat.

Due to his extreme leadership skill and hard work, he was elected the constituency chairman to succeed Frank Davies in 2018, a position he held until his nomination.
