Kumbungu MP presents 30 computers to schools

Mr. Amadu Moses Yahaya, Member of  Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu has presented 30 laptop computers to six junior high schools (JHS) in the Kumbungu District.

The donation is meant to enhance the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the schools.

He also presented footballs and a set of jerseys each to the beneficiary schools to promote physical education amongst the pupils.

The beneficiary schools included Zugu D/A JHS and Gbullung D/A JHS.

Mr. Yahaya also promised to sponsor senior high school education of the best male and female pupils from the schools.

He urged the pupils to take their lessons seriously to enable them to become useful citizens.

He assured them of continued support for schools in the district to ensure the improvement of academic standards.

He advised girls to reject early and forced marriages and cautioned those engaged in marrying off young girls to desist from the practice and allow them to complete their education.

Hajia Ramatu Mahama, Deputy District Director of Education expressed gratitude to the MP for the items saying the beneficiary schools do not have ICT facilities even though the subject is taught.

Mr Dauda Osman, headteacher of Zugu D/A JHS said the computers would greatly enhance the teaching and learning of ICT in the school. ­
