Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has asked members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to refrain from public criticisms anytime they feel aggrieved about issues of the party since going public with internal matters was not the best.

He explained that, it was better for them to use indoor criticism since the unity of the party was pertinent for the transformation of the country.

Ex-President Kufuor said this when he addressed delegates at the 25th annual delegates conference of the New Patriotic Party held at the campus of the University of Cape Coast at the weekend.

He cautioned members of the NPP to refrain from acts that would create disunity in the party which he said, had the tendency to destabilise the gains made so far.

He indicated that it was not far for members to engage in media banter at the expense of the party and said that the NPP should be the concern of all and not individuals.

He believes that media banter among party members will only drag the name of the party in the mud.

“In the short term, I want to entreat each and every one of us not to and let me repeat, not to say or do anything or conduct ourselves in any way that will rock (destabilise) this young government. If you do that, you are not just seeing the vision in which the party was founded. If you have any criticisms, please render the criticisms indoors,” he said.

President Kufuor later at a mammoth rally held at the Victoria Park, urged members of the NPP to be patient with the president and his team as the team roll out its programmes and policies.

He said that the programmes had been designed to solve the militating problems facing the nation in terms of development, unemployment among others.

“When I look at what is happening in terms of policies and programmes, I have no doubt in my mind that this administration will deliver,” he said.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the rally, commended the Central Region for voting overwhelmingly for the party during the 2016 election and indicated that the government would not disappoint the region.

He explained that his administration had started rolling out programmes and policies aimed at transforming the nation.

He mentioned that the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy would commence in few weeks time while the restoration of allowances for students of teacher and nursing training institutions would commence this year.

He stated that the promises made to Ghanaians were not meant to deceive people for vote and stressed that the government under his leadership was determined to fulfill every single promise made to the people of Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo further appealed to Ghanaians to support his government to deliver on its mandate to the nation.

His administration, he said, was determined to ensure all promises made during the 2016 elections were fulfilled.
