Kpehe Catholic Church ordains 4 deacons

ARCHBIHSOP PALMA BUCKLEThe  Metropolitan Arch bishop of Accra, the Most Reverend Charles Palmer-Buckle, on Friday ordained four persons as deacons of the Saint Paul Catholic Church, Kpehe, Accra New Town and urged them to offer selfless service.

The four people who received the Diaconate Ordination to the office of the deacon, were,Patrick Quarcoopome, Raphael Hessah, Paul Ebow Quarshie and Courage Dogbey.

Delivering the sermon, the Most. Rev. Palmer-Buckle urged them as deacons to emulate the humility, selflessness and commitment of John the Baptist towards Jesus.

He said as disciples of Christ, there is the need for them to humble themselves before people they would encounter, adding that Christ came to serve and not to be served.

That attitude, he said, would help increase them in strength and vision.

He told them that their new office would require that they help the priest and make themselves servants to the congregation.

Bishop Palmer-Buckle admitted that their duties would come with some challenges; however, as disciples of Jesus Christ, they should not proclaim only His word, but exhibit His deeds as well.

He charged them to work tirelessly to preach the gospel in preparing the hearts of the people they served for God, since that is what you have been tasked to do.

He reminded them of the celibate of chaste oath, declaring their intention to live chaste life before the congregation.

He later led them in the ordination rite and blessed them on the assumption of their new office.
